We hope you had a great summer and had a chance to enjoy all that the season brings. Although things have been pretty quiet the last few months, the action is heating up in Sisterhood headquarters, as we prepare for another great year of activities. But first, here are a few details from last spring.

In conjunction with the Men’s Club, Sisterhood donated funds for a long-awaited new refrigerator. Betsy Kramer took on the job of choosing it and overseeing its installation. It will provide much needed storage for various GLT events. Thank you Betsy and Men’s Club!

On Sunday, July 27 the Book Club met off-site at Starbucks, where we discussed The Spy Who Loved: The Secrets and Lives of Christine Granville. It was an interesting historical look at a Jewish woman born into Polish aristocracy, and how she came to be one of the most decorated female intelligence agents of WWII–she played a direct role in undermining the Nazis.Details on our next book and discussion date will be sent out soon.

Sunday, September 7 is the annual Sisterhood Kick-off Dinner at GLT. Join us for a delicious dinner, a few surprises, and the chance to meet new members, reconnect with friends, and make new ones! One of the great things about Sisterhood is that it gathers GLT women from across the spectrum.

During the dinner, we will be saying good-bye and thank you to Marion Silverman for her years of dedication in her role as Sisterhood Treasurer. We will then be excitedly welcoming Janet Fried as new Sisterhood Treasurer. Thank you Marion and Janet!

If you are new to GLT or have not joined Sisterhood yet, please be our guest to an upcoming event or contact one of the Co-Presidents, Neeta Seletsky and Lisa Winokur, at sisterhood@gltorah.org for more information. We would love to welcome you to Sisterhood and have you enjoy our fun and friendly community and events.

Be on the lookout for exciting upcoming events including The Annual GLT Hanukkah Bazaar on Sunday, November 16–lots of vendors and opportunities to buy special and one-of-a-kind gifts. We are looking for vendors as well as volunteers to help make this event run smoothly and be even more fun!

See you soon at GLT!
